Kathmandu- The Capital City of Nepal

The City of Different Tourist Area- Kathmandu


Nepal as i have earlier mentioned in previous blog that is the country that once should be visited by a person in his life time. Nepal is also surrounded by eight of the World's ten highest peaks including the highest peak in the world- Mount Everest. Today's blog will be based on the top things that you will never forget to visit of the places in Kathmandu.

As the Kathmandu is surrounded by the mountains. Tourists usually visit the country to see mountains, natural beauty etc. Kathmandu is located at altitude of 4,265 feet and the city is known for City of Glory. Kathmandu is the largest city by its population and is only the destination that the whoever comes to Country, Nepal- he will land to the Tribhuwan International Airport situated in Kathmandu. Most visited places by tourists and Momo is Famous Fast food and every person like it.

So, today's blog will have the top 5 places of Kathmandu valley, the tourists or any other person should visit once in life time.



Here are the places-

1. Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath Temple is situated in Gaushala and every people visit this places every day. It a Hindu temple of Lord Shiva. In the festival, Maha Shiva Ratri many tourists come to this place for the visit. The Morning or Sunset time is best time to visit this temple. There is no entry for the foreigners but they can peers through the windows. Local people also cannot enter the main temple, that door is opened in occasion only. There are also stairs on the East side of the river leading to the Boudha Stupa and it is the shortest ways to go there. And this site is listed as World Heritage Site in the World.

2. Kathmandu Durbar Square
The Kathmandu Durbar Square is a site which is listed in UNESCO world heritage site. This square is crowded with Palaces and temples and currently incarnated of the "Kasthmandap" or Wooden House that represents the City Name. In Nepali Durbar means Palace and this is where the Monarch was crowned and from where he ruled. The entry fee for the foreigner is NPR 750. There are many guiding people for the more about the Kathmandu Durbar Square.

3. Narayanihiti Palace Museum
This is the palace of the Former King of Nepal which he was left in 2009 and the Nepal was not under the King Rule. This is the palace which was converted in the Museum and partly into the Foreign Ministry after the abolition in 2009. In this Palace the former King Birender was asicinated with his family on 2058 B.S. And this history is still unknown. Now anyone can visit the palace and its a awesome palace to visit and the bullets that were used in that incident are kept there only. Many local and international tourists visit this place daily.

4. Swayambhunath Temple
This is the one of the most sacred Buddhist site in the Country- Nepal. From this you can view the whole Kathmandu city. It is also known as a Monkey temple because you will see many monkey's there. This temple is at height so that you can view the Whole Kathmandu city. There are 350 steps to the top but you can take the back way also but you won't view the scenery of the Kathmandu City.

5. Boudha Stupa
This stupa is situated in Boudha and you can go directly from the Gaushala where Pashupatinath Temple is situated. This is the huge Stupa and is one of the largest Stupa in the whole world. The aerial view is too good to see. This is the most sacred sites for Tibetan Buddhism. This is also the another World's Heritage Site listed in the List. 

So these are the topmost places and are also listed on the World's Heritage Site. These places are beautiful and one should visit in his life time.  Hope you will visit the Places in Nepal.
